After one month of spying on the Ministry of Magic, the trio managed to retrieve the Horcrux from Umbridge. In the process, they are known hiding place and forced to flee to remote areas, moving from one place to another, and can not stay long in one place.
Within a few months of moving around, they heard that the sword of Godric Gryffindor is actually false, and anyone doing something about the original sword. The three then spoke to Xenophilius Lovegood, Luna Lovegood's father, and asked them about Grindelwald's symbol that has appeared many times during their trip. At Lovegood's home, Harry, Ron, and Hermione get a story about three brothers ancient wizard who defeated death, and each get a magic thing as a result - an unbeatable wand (the Elder Wand), magic stone that can revive the dead (Resurrection Stone), and the invisibility cloak that is not timeless. Harry realizes that his own cloak is the cloak, and soon discovered that Lovegood has betrayed them to the Ministry. Luna, his daughter, had been held captive and he believes thinking to give up Harry Potter in exchange for prisoners. The three escape and think to collect all the Deathly Hallows magic, to defeat Voldemort.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione were captured and taken to Malfoy. There, Hermione is tortured and interrogated by Bellatrix Lestrange to find how she acquired Godric Gryffindor's sword, because he thought that they had stolen from her vault. Underground, Harry and Ron imprisoned together with Dean Thomas, Griphook goblins, magic wand maker Ollivander, and Luna Lovegood. Harry tried to seek help and Dobby appears to save him.
